What services does Golden Care offer?
Golden Care provides a comprehensive range of in-home and community care services, including personal support services (bathing, grooming, meal prep, mobility), developmental support, supported independent living, respite care, companion and social support, community participation assistance, and transportation services. We serve seniors, adults with disabilities, and their families throughout London, Ontario and surrounding communities.
Do you provide overnight or 24-hour care?
Currently, Golden Care provides morning, afternoon, and evening shifts. Overnight care and 24-hour coverage are planned as part of our service expansion in Year 2. Please contact us to discuss your specific needs, as we will accommodate where possible on a case-by-case basis.
Can I access multiple services at the same time?
Absolutely. Many of our clients receive a combination of services — for example, personal support in the mornings alongside companion care in the afternoons, or developmental support paired with transportation assistance. Our care plans are designed holistically and can incorporate as many services as your loved one requires.
Do you provide care in retirement homes or hospitals, or only private residences?
Our primary focus is in-home and community-based care. We can provide companion support, developmental services, and respite care in various settings, including private residences, retirement communities, and community spaces. We do not provide nursing care within hospital settings. Please contact us to discuss your specific situation.
Are your developmental support services aligned with DSO guidelines?
Yes. All of our developmental support programs are designed to align with Developmental Services Ontario (DSO) standards and best practices. We can work with clients who are DSO-funded or privately funded, and coordinate with DSO case managers where applicable.
Are there any hidden fees I should know about?
None. We are firmly committed to transparent pricing. The rate we quote is the rate you pay. Any applicable travel charges, package discounts, or funding adjustments will be clearly explained in writing before services begin.
Does Golden Care accept government funding or DSO-funded clients?
Yes. We work with clients who are funded through Developmental Services Ontario (DSO), Ontario Health Teams, and Community Living organizations. For funded clients, we manage the billing coordination with the relevant agency. Contact us to discuss your funding situation and eligibility.
Can I pay for care in a monthly package rather than hourly?
Yes. We offer weekly and monthly service packages that provide a predictable, often discounted alternative to hourly billing. All packages include detailed service logs and regular statements. We’ll work with you to find the arrangement that best suits your budget and scheduling needs.
Are your caregivers screened and background-checked?
Yes — without exception. Every caregiver undergoes a criminal record check with Vulnerable Sector Screening before being hired. References are verified, and qualifications are confirmed. This is a non-negotiable standard at Golden Care.
What happens if my regular caregiver is unavailable?
We maintain a pool of relief staff specifically to cover absences, vacations, or unexpected unavailability. Where possible, we introduce relief staff to clients in advance so they are not meeting a stranger during a vulnerable moment. Our 24/7 on-call coordinator manages all emergency coverage to ensure continuity of care.
How flexible is your scheduling?
Highly flexible. We offer morning (7 AM–3 PM), afternoon/evening (3 PM–11 PM), and overnight (11 PM–7 AM) shifts, as well as relief and on-call arrangements. Services can be scheduled for a few hours per week or on a full-time basis. We aim to accommodate scheduling changes with as much notice as possible.
How much notice is required to cancel or reschedule a visit?
We request a minimum of 24–48 hours’ notice for cancellations or schedule changes where possible. We understand that life is unpredictable, and we handle cancellations with flexibility and understanding. Our care coordinator is available to assist with urgent changes at any time.
